The first time, just listen and take in the meaning.  The second time through, please join in &lt;i&gt;if and only if&lt;/i&gt; you can do so with integrity.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Perhaps I won&amp;#39;t though - I think it would be more destructive than constructive! This song routinely gets a slagging and although I agree that R.Mark has made a bit of a mess of it I do think it is a sincere attempt to express those exact sentiments.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You also hit the nail on the head when you say:&lt;br /&gt;But if you’re quibbling over a song like this because you think people might not understand, then take the time to learn what the writer meant, and take 20 seconds before you sing it to explain what it’s about.
